Why "Home by Another Way?"

Why "Home by Another Way?"

The name of this practice comes from a set of lyrics I carried through my own recovery.

We got this far to a lucky starBut tomorrow is another dayWe can make it another waySafe home as they used to sayKeep a weather eye to the chart on highAnd go home another way

Recovery rarely follows the road we arrived on. It asks for a different route home — one that keeps a weather eye on what is true, and moves toward health rather than back into the same harbor.

That is what this practice offers: a way home that is not the way the eating disorder came in. Together we work to understand the client's puzzle of personal eating issues and restore a positive relationship with food.
